Another speech by Rotary Founder Paul P. Harris
http://www.whatpaulharriswrote.org/library/speeches/1937fortmyers.htm provided by RGHF senior historian Basil Lewis, UK; and RGHF member Wayne Miller, USA
From that speech:
Educators and ministers are generally happy although they took up their life work knowing it would not lead to riches. I have seen too many unhappy rich people take their own lives- to put much store by a bank roll. The thing in life that we need is friendliness, kindness, cheerfulness and love for those close to us- yes, love for humanity.

The above, on the 1937 convention page, was discovered by RGHF senior historian Dr. Wolfgang Ziegler, Bavaria, and shows the founders sense of humor.

More ancestry of Rotary Founder Paul P. Harris, by one of our RGHF members
------------------------------
Not many non-British citizens are accorded the honour of a memorial service in St.Paul's, and it is a mark of the esteem in which Paul Harris was held, that he received this signal honour.
